Kiwi Bird Scientific Name: Apteryx
Size: The largest, the Great Spotted Kiwi, is about 18 in. high and is around 7.3 lbs
Diet: Worms, fruit, crayfish, eels, frogs, seeds, and grubs
Lifespan: 20-30 years
Physical Features: The most unique feature of the kiwi is its beak. Kiwi's beaks have nostrils at the tip, not top like most birds, and since scientists measure the size of a beak from nostril to tip, the kiwis beak is scientifically one of the smallest in the world!

Behavior: The kiwi is nocturnal. It doesn't fly, and it dwells upon the forest floor.
Habitat: The kiwi lives in in its native forests of New Zealand, but is also highly adaptable. They can be found in places from sand dunes to snowy farms.
Threats: Kiwis are hunted by stoats, weasels, ferrets, rats, possums, cats, and dogs. They can be hit by cars while crossing the road and caught in traps intended for possums.
We need to save endangered animals.
