Who Knew?: Palm Oil
This is Palm Oil. Heard of it? I didn't think so. It comes from the African Oil Palm Tree. It's used in many things, such as soap, taffy, and chocolate. Many companies that use it hide it, saying on the label 'vegetable oil' or something similar, or it's long, scientific name to confuse people. And the worst part? Up to 50% of supermarket products contain Palm Oil!
The forested areas of Borneo and Sumatra are being destroyed to plant oil palm trees. Animals such as gorillas and orangutans are refugees in their own homes. All for that candy in your hand.
Now I bet your hoping to help.
I know I am.
Me too!
Me three!

Find more names at https://www.ran.org/palm_oil_s_dirty_secret_the_many_ingredient_names_for_palm_oil
- Make sure that IF it has palm oil, that it's Sustainable Palm Oil
Make a choice: the candy, or the world.
EXTINCT IS FOREVER!
